we have a whole new year of data points. why aren't we using those? might there be a reason

You're right we do.

What we have is Brock having Kyle forget that you can make things easier for the QB, playing with a poor performing defense that can't hold any leads, a special teams disaster in virtually every game we have and injuries to key players virtually all year long.

And was Brock terrible? Only when compared to the high standard he set and even then he played much better than many of the QBs we've had here with Kyle when things weren't such a mess.

When you have your best down the field WR rusty and not playing like his former self then getting injured early in the year, while your reigning OPOTY RB is out, your TE having to stay in to block or banged up on his own. Young receivers not up to speed on the offense and misses critical time to build chemistry with you…it's not going to be great.

Mahomes the best QB in the game had injuries to his WRs, he had some issues on the OL. He was putting up his worst statistical season.

Should the chiefs asks for money back?

Newsflash. QBs need help regardless of how talented they are. People can point to Josh Allen playing great with his group of no name players but his OL is really good. His RBs are very good and while his receivers aren't household names they've been with him for a bit and that goes a long way.

We've seen Brock make big plays and big throws to the Chris Conleys, Ronnie Bells and the Ray Ray McClouds of the world when the pass protection is there. This year to me showed he's for real considering everything going on with the team in general.

Brock like every young QB can keep getting better. There is this weird belief that the kid is capped from developing just cuz his physical tools aren't elite. Simply playing more, learning when to check it down and play it safe are things he can still grow from.

Plenty of QBs would've completely wilted this season. Brock is made of the right stuff. We just need consistency around him and an OL that doesn't rely on the center for pass protection calls…while that center is arguably one of the worst in the league.

Because I watch the games. The better question is why you include 40-50 yard passes when they aren't there.

Saying Purdy has one of the weakest arms among starters in the league isn't a narrative. It's an observation. It's one of the reasons he was an afterthought in the draft, right or wrong.

Why was Tom Brady an afterthought in the draft?

These conversations you guys have been having for pages about those stats and his deep throwing is beyond ridiculous.

The best QB to play for this franchise had an arm very similar to Brock's. Would any of you trade him for Dan Marino or John Elway? They had the bigger arm for sure.

First of all there have been many reports about Brock improving his arm from college to the pros. Second for THIS offense his arm is not an issue.

If someone can prove how it holds back OUR offense please feel free to provide instances of it happening. Otherwise stop the nonsense about his arm strength. It doesn't matter!

I assure you it will not be part of the negotiations.

"Geez Brock you can't hit the goal posts from the other endzone so how about $15 mil a year sound?"
When regurgitating falsehoods over and over without pushback...

How many 50 air yard passes were completed by any qb?

Just remember the deep throwing conversation was a tangent. It was brought up as a defense in conversations about potential arm strength limitations not necessarily related to down the field throws. Our offense looks like it has some adjustments to make and I think it's fair to wonder how much adjusting we can do. We want to build an offense around our strengths.

To be fair, I would consider trading Joe Montana for Elway and/or Marino (and I believe Walsh did the same). They're all great QBs regardless. I have very little doubt we would have been a dominant team with any of the three.

Is Brock Purdy either Joe Montana and/or Elway and/or Marino?

Again, you comment on me instead of Purdy or the 49ers?

I believe 100% of your posts today are about me.

That is weird.

Probably a bigger winner than Marino or Elway.

I am hopeful he doesn't end up waiting like Elway or never winning like Marino.

Hear Hear. I've been saying these points the whole year. People love being in denial. Brock underperformed in the 4th quarter this year by his own doing as well as not having his all pro weapons and poor pass pro BUT improved running and extending plays.

Stroud did the same this year. Mahomes has been declining the last 2 years in terms of performance. It doesn't mean Brock isn't a very good qb, same with Stroud. Mahomes is still elite but not preforming as well.

Next year when we get the bye week and are in the SB I'll just smile….and Purdy will have A LOT to do with it

The difference with mahomes is he DELIVERS every time they need him. Every big 3rd down or late, despite having maybe the worst tackle combo in the league and very little at wr, he delivers. Stop looking at box scores. Watch the game.

Purdy this year failed every time we needed him to make a play late. I understand it's not all his fault that put them in that position but we needed him to step up vs vikes, failed, rams game 1 late, failed, cards game 1, failed, rams game 2 failed, lions game failed, dolphins game failed.

The difference between mahomes and purdy is people make excuses for mahomes why his NUMBERS aren't great. They don't need to make excuses as to why he missed the playoffs or lost games because he doesn't miss playoffs and doesn't lose many games

Hopefully purdy can drastically improve in that area because with what we're going to be paying him we need more from him or we'll continue to be a fringe playoff team

I'm talking about this season. Brock has a great playoff run, no question. But this season he was absolutely awful late
